Life Memos - by The Mellowing Stars
The Mellowing Stars are a group of older people from the Dundrum area. Over a period of 4 months in 2018, they worked with theatre maker Andrea Scott to create and devise their own original material in a theatrical form. This was a collaborative project and the work has been created directly from experiences and the inspiration of the group. The piece was performed to a full house in dlr Mill Theatre in June 2018.
Life Memos is a testimony to lives lived and experienced. Memories are brought to life through story, image and movement. Andrea is the artistic director of Floating World Productions and has extensive experience in theatre, and in facilitating a diverse range of groups. She says of The Mellowing Stars: “It has been an absolute pleasure to work with this wonderful group for the past four months. They have been open and creative throughout sharing stories and ideas with me…”

This work was commissioned by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council as part the public art programme which is run by the Arts Office. The project was directly managed by dlr Mill Theatre and funded as part of the Per Cent for Art Programme under the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government.
