More than 250 Business women joined with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Local Enterprise Office at NWED 19th October 2016 to share their “road to success”

More than 250 business women joined forces this week with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Local Enterprise Office along with the other Dublin Local Enterprise Offices to celebrate ten years of ‘National Women’s Enterprise Day’ (NWED) with a major event in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dublin Airport.

The Dublin event was among 7 events run throughout the country for National Women’s Enterprise Day, with hundreds of female entrepreneurs sharing stories of their “road to success” in business.

Guest speakers at the NWED Dublin event, including Susannagh Grogan of Susannagh Grogan Accessories, Nicola Byrne of 11890 and Cloud 90, Susan Spence of Softco and Joanne Hession of the Entrepreneurs Academy, revealed their business success secrets to a full audience and gave motivational presentations on how women can make it in the business world!

Minister of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor T.D., said it was heartening to see more women than ever before attend National Women’s Enterprise Day and considering entrepreneurship as a career.

It is great to see more female entrepreneurs seeking advice and support with starting their own business. Women are creating innovative businesses right across the country which are focused on exports, growth and job creation and they have a huge amount to contribute to business in Ireland. The Local Enterprise Offices are here to encourage and to help business women in the county along their entrepreneurial journey.

Last year, Local Enterprise Offices all over Ireland supported over 11,000 female entrepreneurs through training, mentoring, direct financial assistance and networking. The Local Enterprise Office Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown would like to encourage even more local businesswomen to access enterprise supports available to them. National Women’s Enterprise Day is an annual initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices and is supported by Enterprise Ireland and the Local Authorities Network.

Further information on the supports available to small businesses and start-ups is available through www.localenterprise.ie.
