Local Enterprise Office dlr is calling on local entrepreneurs between the ages of 18-35 years who have a business idea, start-up business or established business to apply to the IBYE Competition!
There is a €50,000 investment fund up for grabs at the County Final in November and €2 million at the National Final. Local winners in the Best Start-Up and Best Established Business categories will receive €15,000 each and the two runners-up will each receive €5,000. The Best Business Idea winner locally will receive an investment prize of €7,000 and the runner-up will receive €3,000.
"The IBYE initiative offers a very significant stepping stone into the world of running your own business. It's not just the scale of the investment fund on offer that makes IBYE so important; IBYE entrants receive intensive enterprise boot camp training, business advice and mentoring from their LEO under the programme. IBYE has proven to be a great success in previous years and I would encourage all young entrepreneurs between the age of 18 – 35 to talk to LEO dlr about the IBYE programme and apply”.
The competition attracted 1,400 applications across the country last year and supported over 450 young entrepreneurs. One such winner, Timothy Mc Elroy, co-founder of HouseMyDog.com and winner of Best Start-up in dlr, speaks highly of his experience in IBYE: "IBYE was a great help to HouseMyDog. The Entrepreneur Bootcamp was a crash course in building your business and investor pitch, and the financial and mentor supports we received have had a big impact on our growth. We would recommend all Irish start-ups to take part in the competition".
Closing date for applications is Friday, October 14th, 2016.
