Making of the Woodbrook-Shanganagh Local Area Plan 2017-2023

At the July Council Meeting 2017, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council agreed to make the Draft Woodbrook-Shanganagh Local Area Plan 2017-2021, with minor amendments. 

The Council meeting extended past midnight and was concluded by way of a resolution on 4 July 2017. Consequently, and in accordance with the provisions of Section 20(4A) of the Planning & Development Act, 2000 (as amended), the Local Area Plan will take effect 4 weeks after making the Plan – that is on 1 August 2017.

The Local Area Plan will deliver much needed housing within the County in tandem with complementary and supporting community and social infrastructure including: community facilities at Shanganagh Castle, enhanced recreational facilities in Shanganagh Park, a new DART Station at Woodbrook, a new 24 classroom primary school, a neighbourhood centre, childcare facilities and high quality public realm and green infrastructure that will offer safe pedestrian and cycling routes throughout the Plan area.

From 1 August 2017, the adopted Local Area Plan will be available to view at www.dlrcoco.ie and at the following locations:

·         County Hall, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire

·         Council Offices, Dundrum Office Park, Dundrum

·         All dlr Library branches
