PREPARATION OF A LOCAL AREA PLAN FOR
WOODBROOK - SHANGANAGH 2017 – 2023

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended), that Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, being the Planning Authority for the County, intends to prepare a Local Area Plan for the following area:
  • Woodbrook - Shanganagh
The County Council hereby invites any interested parties or individuals to make suggestions or forward ideas in advance of  the preparation of the draft Local Area Plan.  Submissions may be made in writing during the period from Wednesday 12th October, 2016 to Wednesday 2nd November,  2016. 
 
All submissions and observations should be marked for the attention of the Director of Planning and Organisational Innovation Department, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, County Hall, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. Submissions and observations may also be made via the Council’s Public Consultation Hub and should state your name, address, and where relevant, the body represented.  All submissions and observations lodged within the above time period will be taken into consideration during the preparation of the Woodbrook – Shanganagh 2017 – 2023 Draft Local Area Plan.
 
Strategic Environment Assessment and Appropriate Assessment
 
In compliance with the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive (2001/42/EC) and in accordance with Article 14A  of the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 (S.I. No. 436 of 2004) (as amended), the Planning Authority proposes to carry out a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) as part of the preparation of the Local Area Plan.  For this purpose, the Planning Authority will prepare an Environmental Report of the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the new Plan. The provisions of Articles 14B to 14D of Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 (S.I. No. 436 of 2004) (as amended) shall also apply.
 
Pursuant to the requirements of Article 6 of the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC), a Stage One Appropriate Assessment Screening shall be carried out as part of the overall process and a Stage Two Appropriate Assessment (AA) shall subsequently be carried out, if required.
 
An explanatory leaflet which sets out the background context for preparing the Local Area Plan and identifies the topics that may be included in a Local Area Plan, together with a map identifying the area for which the Plan will be prepared, may be inspected at the following locations:- 
 
  • Planning and Organisational Innovation Department, County Hall, Dún Laoghaire (10.00a.m - 4.00p.m.)
  • Council Offices, Dundrum Office Park, Dundrum (9.30a.m.–12.30p.m. and 1.30p.m. - 4.30p.m.)
 
Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) from Wednesday 12th October 2016 to Wednesday 2nd November, 2016 (inclusive).  The respective document and maps may also be viewed on the County Council’s website at www.dlrcoco.ie.
 
All submissions and observations, in respect of the proposed Woodbrook – Shanganagh 2017 Local Area Plan, made in writing to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council within the above time period will be taken into consideration by the Council in the preparation of the Draft Local Area Plan.
 

Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are entitled to make submissions or observations.

All submissions and observations should include your name and a contact address and where relevant, details of any organisation, community group or company etc., which you represent.

Please make your submission by one medium only, i.e. hard copy or Consultation Hub.
