The Parks and Landscape Services Department have developed a masterplan based on comprehensive analysis of Corke Abbey Valley Park, ecological studies and public consultation. The masterplan identifies the site as an intrinsic area of biodiversity and climate resilience. In recent months, a new playground with nature-based play solutions and a callisthenics zone have been developed. Extensive seating has been installed as well as additional tree planting and a fenced off biodiversity buffer alongside a section of the river. Some works to create an area of wetland alongside the river will also take place.

The masterplan also proposes the upgrading of the path network, entrances and bridges, a lit shared surface corridor to increase active and evening participation through walking and cycling. The net effect for the locality is an improved public space rich with biodiversity, greening and placemaking, making efficient use of the limited space to cater for park users, and the development of habitats for flora and fauna.
