Bumblebees are an important wild pollinator which is under threat. By monitoring our bumblebee populations, we can identify species that need our help the most. They are also living indicators of changes to climate change and the landscape. In support of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan, the National Biodiversity Data Centre runs a monitoring scheme where everyone can get involved and become a Bumblebee champion.
In conjunction with the National Biodiversity Data Centre, we are providing a Bumblebee Monitoring workshop where you will learn all you need to know about our native Bumblebees, their lifecycle, ecology and how you could help monitor Bumblebees. If you would like to find out more about the scheme please visit http://www.biodiversityireland.ie/projects/irish-pollinator-initiative/get-involved/bumblebee-monitoring-scheme/.
