The dlr Civic Hub – our new customer service centre, is a digitally enhanced one-stop-shop helping to manage and deliver accessible Council services on living, working, visiting and doing business in the County. The space will also showcase all Council activities and events, engaging citizens and businesses in public consultations on Council programmes. All channels of dlr communications will be driven through the Civic Hub - telephone, email, letter, in person, web, social media, etc.
With the Civic Hub having been designed around our customers, self-service kiosks will allow everyone to access information at the click of a button. A well-staffed public counter guarantees there will always be someone to answer a question in person. There will be a 33% increase in public opening hours, with the Hub operating from 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and from 9am to 4.30pm on Fridays, and will be open at lunchtime. Meeting pods will allow secluded areas for Councillors and their constituents or customers and our staff to have private conversations. These are situated in and around the Civic Hub. It is expected that the dlr Civic Hub and the new Council Chamber will be open for business this coming June.
