General News

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s annual countywide Festival of Inclusion programme begins shortly, with this year’s theme being ‘Celebrating Generations’. Over 100 events will take place throughout the County between the 4 and 12 October 2019, and there is sure to be something for all citizens of the County to enjoy!

An Cathaoirleach Councillor Shay Brennan commented:

The dlr Festival of Inclusion has become a flagship event in the dlr events calendar as it continues to develop and encourage communities to celebrate and showcase their superb work and activities carried out throughout the year. This year’s Festival theme is “Celebrating Generations” with numerous events focusing upon this theme taking place throughout the County. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the participants, hosts, community groups, volunteers and dlr partners for all their hard work and commitment in developing the extensive 2019 Festival Programme, and I would encourage everyone to take the opportunity to attend as many of the fantastic events throughout the week as possible”

The dlr Festival of Inclusion is a celebration of our diverse communities and the people in them. Each year we recognise, celebrate and enjoy the work carried out by the many volunteer and professional groups who every day create positive outcomes, all the while enhancing the lives of families, friends and neighbours. This year’s festival begins with the Diversity Fashion Show, taking place on Friday 4 October at the Nutgrove Shopping Centre. The Diversity Fashion Show showcases diversity and style, with models from all walks of life.
