Family Fun Day at Ballyogan
Ballyogan residents marked the Summer of 2022 by organising a Football Blitz and Family Fun Day in July with over 600 adults and young people in attendance!
The event was made possible by funding from the Community Activation Fund Grant distributed by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and sponsored by organisations including: LUAS, Samuel Beckett Community Facility, Spar Ballyogan, and Healthy Ireland dlr who provided the goodie bags.
Leas Cathaoirleach Michael Clark said:
I would like to thank the Ballyogan Football blitz Committee and the local volunteers, who have been instrumental in co-ordinating the wonderful entertainment and activities the children are enjoying here today, making this special day a marvellous success and a joy to witness.
The sun came out and the events began at 10am with the children’s’ mini world cup followed by music provided by a local DJ Stephen, Dino Dave, Mobile Animal Zoo, Punch & Judy, Motion2Motion School of Dance, Face Painting, Fleming's Butchers & Food Store and dlr Sports Partnership providing taster archery for kids.
The day wrapped up at 4pm with a presentation ceremony where Leas Cathaoirleach Michael Clark and Alan Kieran of the LUAS both spoke commending the residents on their hard work and stating what a success the day was. Each child was then presented with a medal and goody bag for their participation.
The event would not have been possible without the support from the extended community and all who attended, who helped make this family fun event such a great success.
