AIB Press Photographer of the Year Award 2025 exhibition at dlr Lexicon
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is delighted to have on display the annual awards exhibition of the Press Photographers Ireland at dlr LexIcon.
Now in its 47th year, the AIB Press Photographer of the Year Award celebrates the very best of Irish press photography. The exhibition features all the winning and shortlisted images covering Irish life, at home and abroad, during 2024 and highlights the dedication and skill of Ireland’s top press photographers.
David Branigan, President of the Press Photographers Ireland, noted that
“The age of fake news, disinformation, AI generated and manipulated images is truly upon us. Still, the viewers of these 110 images and other work of members of Press Photographers Ireland can be assured that only human technical and creative skills have been deployed in telling their stories.”
Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Councillor Jim O’Leary welcomed the initiative and said:
“Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is proud to be the first to display this exhibition as part of its national tour. We congratulate the press photographers for their achievements, and especially James Crombie for being this year’s overall winner.”
Chief Executive of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Frank Curran added:
“The Council is delighted to host this very popular exhibition. The event attracts many visitors to Dún Laoghaire every year and we invite you to come to dlr Lexicon to see these fantastic photographs.”
The exhibition opened at dlr LexIcon in Dún Laoghaire on 11 March and will run until 6 April. Admission is free of charge.
