Promoting Cultural Integration & Inclusion in the Community Seminar
We would be delighted if you could join the dlr Integration Forum and dlr County Council for our upcoming seminar on 'Promoting Cultural Integration & Inclusion in the Community' as part of the dlr Festival of Inclusion 2024 - a follow-up event to the very successful ‘Promoting Cultural Integration & Inclusion in the Workplace’ seminar which was held in January 2024.
This seminar will take place in the Assembly Hall, County Hall, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire on Thursday 16th May from 9.30-13.00.
This promises to be an insightful and participative seminar which will discuss the current picture of Migrant Communities, the Traveller Community, International Protection Applicants and the Ukrainian Community integrating in dlr. This seminar aims to provide context, an overview of lived experience and an insight into policy development and good practice locally and nationally on ‘Promoting Cultural Integration & Inclusion in the Community’.
Participants on the day will include:
- Opening Address: An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Denis O'Callaghan, Dún Laoghaire- Rathdown County Council.
- MC & Moderator: Dr Claire McGing, Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Sexual Violence Prevention, Institute of Art, Design + Technology, Dún Laoghaire (IADT)
- Presentations by:
- Sandra King, Social Inclusion Manager, Southside Partnership DLR
- Garda Sudita Zalli, Garda National Diversity Unit
- Panelists include:
- Pierrot Ngadi, dlr Integration Forum, Congolese Anti-Poverty Network & UN Ambassador for Peace
- Geraldine Dunne, Director, Southside Travellers Action Group (STAG)
- Viola Di Bucchianico, Forum Polonia & dlr Public Participation Network
- Emma McDonnell, Senior Psychologist HSE & Migrant Lead
- Sandra Mpofu, Volunteer Development Officer, Volunteer Ireland
- Tom Feeney, Chairperson, Blackrock Business Association
