‘Reimagining George's Place - Revitalising through Reuse’ Public Consultation & Workshops

Public Consultation
George's Place

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council received funding under strand 1 of THRIVE - Town Centre First Heritage Revival Scheme funding for an integrated urban study for George’s Place and Kelly’s Avenue, Dún Laoghaire.

The aim of this study titled ‘Reimagining George's Place - Revitalising through Reuse’ is to identify uses and develop a feasibility study for no. 9 George’s Place and the adjacent former washhouse on Kelly’s Avenue, two local authority owned buildings. Previously these protected structures have been occupied as a hotel, a wash house, council stores and offices.

As part of this project, we are inviting everyone to take part in an online public consultation survey (open until 31 October) where we are listening to and gathering information from a wide range of stakeholders and potential users to support the future development of new facilities at this location.

Workshops

On Monday 7 October from 3:30pm to 5:30pm a drop-in workshop will take place on the ground floor of the former Wash House building, as part of the public consultation.

On Saturday 19 October from 1:30pm to 3pm, there will be another drop-in workshop in the former Wash House building, as part of the Open House Dublin, architecture festival programme, where we are asking for your opinions about the future use of these remarkable buildings. This project has been initiated by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Architects and
is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027.
