Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council operates and maintains a number of cemeteries within its administrative area. Many of these cemeteries are historic closed grounds. Dean's Grange and Shanganagh are the two main operational cemeteries in the County.

Shanganagh Cemetery is a relatively new cemetery and there is good capacity for burials. Plots are available in St. Helens section of Shanganagh at a cost of €2,900 each at time of death through a Funeral Director. Plots are selected by the Council in accordance with the next available in line.
Deansgrange Cemetery has been a burial ground since 1865 and is at capacity.
There are two Columbarium Walls in Dean's Grange Cemetery, each face of each wall contains 90 niches, each of which is capable of holding 2 medium size casket of cremated remains. The cost to purchase a niche in the wall is €2,000.00 + V.A.T. @ 13.5% = €2,270.00.
