Status: Construction

Bridge construction – Well advanced with bridge deck completed.

Road construction – Footpath and cycle track kerb in place and ready for bituminous layer installation

The works include generally the construction of approximately 360m of new road as the extension of Druid’s Glen Road Phase One and a new 3 span bridge crossing of Cabinteely stream with an overall span of 42m. The works will also include new access points from the new road to service future development lands.

The key objective is vehicular and pedestrian access to Cherrywood SDZ.

Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. was appointed and started on site on the 25th of September 2023 with project completion in Q2 2024.

Upon the completion of the Druid’s Glen Road Phase 2 scheme, Lehaunstown Lane will no longer be a through road from Brennanstown Road direction  except for  cyclists and pedestrians. As a result, vehicles wishing to travel towards Laughanstown Luas stop direction from Brennanstown Road will need to follow the new route along Brennanstown Road, Johnstown Road, N11 south bound and via the new junction at N11 onto the Druid’s Glen Road, as shown by the blue arrows on the map below. Local access to the first 160m section of Lehaunstown Lane from Brennanstown Road will be maintained.

This modal filter arrangement, approved as part of the Cherrywood Planning Scheme, is provisionally planned to come into operation around 21st June 2024.
