Event Description
Join us this New Year's Eve for a night of fun, excitement, and breathtaking fireworks. We are proud to partner with Failte Ireland to offer this free event for everyone to enjoy. Don't miss out on this unforgettable celebration.
The fireworks will light up the sky above Dún Laoghaire Harbour starting at 8pm on New Year's Eve, providing a magical backdrop to celebrate the arrival of 2025.
Main viewing areas will be along Newtownsmith towards Dún Laoghaire town.
To prepare for the fireworks, there will be a number of closures in place:
- Carlisle Pier Car Park: Closed 23 December - 2 January, 2025.
- East Pier upper level: Closed 30 December - 2 January. There is still access in place to walk the Pier on the lower level during this time or you can walk the West Pier instead!
- No access to East Pier (Upper and Lower Levels) all day New Year's Eve.
- West Pier closed New Year’s Eve 6pm - 9pm
Traffic restrictions and parking:
- Temporary Traffic Restrictions will be in place between 7pm - 8:30/9pm on Queens Road, Windsor Terrace, Park Road, Link Road, Ballygehin Avenue, Sandycove Avenue West and roads around the event.
- Please use the public carparks around the harbour area and do not park in residential streets.
- There will be no Parking on Queens Road – Upper and Lower (from Royal St George Yacht Club to National Yacht Club) from 3pm to 9pm on New Year's Eve.
- dlr Lexicon and Pavilion Theatre car parks will remain open
