This year’s dlr emerging Musician in Residence awardee was Chris Comhaill. Chris focused on developing new arrangements and compositions for his Celtic folklore and myth inspired project Dúchas.
He premiered the new work in a concert in the Studio, dlr LexIcon on 1st June accompanied by double bassist Otso Mielonen
Dublin based guitarist and songwriter Chris has been working on reimagining a repertoire of Celtic and traditional music for his solo guitar project, titled Dúchas. During the residency he has developed new arrangements and compositions for the project using digital technology to bring a modern twist to ancient Celtic melodies.
The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Musicians-in-Residence Scheme is jointly funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the Arts Council and is managed by Music Network.
