As part of a community woodland project, 4,000 trees have been planted in Fernhill Park & Gardens and we completed the universal accessible entrance at Killiney Hill Park.

We are continuing to work on plans for a National Water Sports Campus in partnership with Irish Sailing & Diving Ireland and we opened new Boulles Courts in Marley and Kilbogget Park. dlr Sports Partnership and Active Cities Teams have several events planned outdoors this Summer. Look out for “Map My Park” which will offer you the opportunity to become more active in our parks.

The dlr Age Well Expo will take place in June and will showcase the many Age-Friendly activities, support services and organisations operating in the county as well as hosting well-being talks, cookery, exercise and creativity demonstrations on the day.

In Cherrywood 948 homes have been completed, 943 are currently under construction with a further 1,088 homes the subject of live planning applications. Three Parks have been fully completed and are due to open this year. There are 80 students now in the first primary school and four LUAS stops are now in place.

On the Tourism front, 90 Cruise Liners and over 150,000 guests and crews will stop off at Dún Laoghaire this year. We also have Coastival coming up in July which celebrates the maritime heritage of Dún Laoghaire and will coincide with Ireland’s largest Regatta. We are also in the process of preparing our Tourism Strategy for the years ahead.

Work on the draft Dundrum Local Area Plan is progressing well and there are on-going assessments including an Area Based Transport Assessment & Environmental Assessments. Public display of the draft plan will take place later this year.

Work will start on the Glenamuck Distributor Road Scheme in June and the Blackglen Road Project will be completed in Q2.

Construction work will start at Coliemore Harbour, Dalkey in September to install rock anchors and stabilise the bedrock supporting access to the southern pier. The completion of this first phase of the Dún Laoghaire Baths project will start around the end of May with the construction of a new accessibility ramp to the lower deck of the site.
