The Prior Warning Notice has been removed at Seapoint Beach today - Tuesday, 23rd June.

A status yellow rainfall warning has been issued by Met Éireann until Friday afternoon 19th June 2020 with accumulations of up to 30mm predicted, with the possibility of further heavy rain on Saturday 20th June 2020.  This is likely to result in overflows from the Irish Water wastewater network resulting in poor water quality at Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Seapoint Beach during the 2-3 days after the event.  A Prior Warning notice has been posted at Seapoint Beach today.  Swimming is advised against for the period evening of Thursday 18th June to Tuesday 23rd June 22:00.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council bathing water team will be liaising with Irish Water to determine the effects of the rainfall event and will carry out a revised risk assessment of potential risks on Friday and Monday.  Updates will be issued here and on twitter and information posted at each of the designated bathing areas.  Additional testing of bathing waters will be carried out and results will be made available on www.beaches.ie . It is expected that these results will be available on Monday 22nd June 2020.
