Get Ready to Roll with dlr Bike Week 2023!

Today, Councillor Mary Hanafin, Cathaoirleach, and Frank Curran, Chief Executive, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council hopped on their bikes to officially launch Bike Week 2023!

This exciting week-long event will take place from Saturday, May 13th, until Sunday, May 21st, with a range of activities and events located across the County to celebrate and promote the benefits of cycling.

Cyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to join in the many events on offer, from inclusive cycling demonstrations and children’s learn-to-cycle workshops to parent and child cycle workshops, women only cycling workshops, and more. There will be bike safety checks, bike tattoos, bike accessory giveaways, and even a disco cycle!

Speaking at the launch Councillor Mary Hanafin, Cathaoirleach said:

This year’s Bike Week events aim to encourage cyclists of all ages and abilities to enjoy our beautiful County. There are a number of fun inclusive events designed to enable people young and old to experience some of the many benefits of cycling. I would encourage people to join in throughout the week as we have events catering for all levels, from the complete beginner to the seasoned cyclist.”
