Helping Irish Hosts Information Roadshow
Over 78,000 displaced Ukrainians have arrived in Ireland since the war started and over 2,417 Ukrainians are living with hosts in Dublin . Many more are still in need of accommodation.
Helping Irish Hosts are appealing to local people in Dún Laoghaire Rathdown to come forward to offer a room in their home or a self-contained property. If it’s something you’ve been thinking about, please get in touch and HIH will support you throughout the process of hosting.
Frank Curran, Chief Executive, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council said:
The welcome has been strong in our community, and we welcome current hosts and anyone interested in hosting to come along to County Hall, Dún Laoghaire, for an evening of celebration and information-sharing on what it's like to host displaced Ukrainians and how you can apply”.
We invite current hosts and anyone interested in hosting to join us for an evening of celebration and information-sharing on what it's like to host displaced Ukrainians and how to go about it. Part of a nationwide Roadshow series, this event will take place at County Hall, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire on Wednesday 24 May at 7pm.
The evening will be hosted by TV and radio broadcaster Mary Kennedy, who will be joined by local host families and their Ukrainian guests, Angie Gough from Helping Irish Hosts and expert partners from the Irish Red Cross, The Open Community, Ukrainian Action and the Irish Refugee Council.

There are now over 5,000 host homes in Ireland, accommodating more than 10,000 displaced people . Helping Irish Hosts are here to help set hosts up with all the tools you need to host in your home.
