Bathing Water Advisory Notice for Seapoint

General News
Public Notices

Due to the heavy rainfall overnight on Wednesday/Thursday 01st/02nd July 2020 Advisory Warning notices are being placed at Seapoint Beach today.  Swimming is advised against for the period Thursday 02nd July 15:00 until Monday 06th July 18:00 at this designated bathing area.  This is due to the possibility of an increase in the levels of bacteria found in the bathing water as a result of overflows from the Irish Water wastewater network.  It is likely that these overflows will have an effect on the quality of bathing water during the 3-4 days after the event.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council bathing water team will be liaising with Irish Water to determine the effects of the rainfall event and will carry out a revised risk assessment of potential risks on Monday.  Updates will be issued here and on dlr social media outlets and information will be posted at each of the designated bathing areas.  Additional testing of bathing waters will be carried out and results will be made available on www.beaches.ie.  It is expected that these results would be available on Monday July 06th .
