Killiney Beach Enhancement Works

Starting Thursday, December 10th, dlr will be carrying out a number of different enhancement works to Killiney beach and its surrounding area and access points, wiht an aim to be completed in February 2021. The works to be done before Christmas (10/12/20 – 23/12/20) will be “Phase 1 -Walkway from beach carpark to main DART station carpark”, detailed in the attached file. For this period there will be no access to the beach carpark off Strathmore Road during the dates outlined above. The entrance to the carpark will be blocked off at Strathmore Road. The footpath and grass area will also be closed to pedestrians from the beach carpark to the DART station carpark. And there will be restricted access at the bridge at DART station carpark as it is needed for a site machinery access route.

1. Walkway from the beach carpark to the DART carpark

• Widening & re-surfacing of existing footpath
• Installation of 2m buff area (Laying anti-skid resin)
• Installation of drainage
• Installation of street furniture

2. Strathmore Road to beach carpark

• Resurfacing of existing road and carpark
• Relocate and upgrade bollards surrounding carpark carpark
• Installation of drainage
• Relocate & install new bike stands
• New linemarking placed for carpark spaces

3. DART Station Carpark

• Resurfacing of existing carpark and pedestrian access route
• Laying of anti-skid resin
• Upgrade existing footpaths
• Planting of new tress in new green area
• Reline Carpark area

4. Walkway from pump station to beach

• Installation of wheelchair accessible ramp
• Resurfacing of pedestrian access route
• Access ramps to beach

5. Station Road access point

• Resurfacing of pedestrian access route
• Extend steel railing to end of ramped access

6. Military Road access point

• Resurfacing of pedestrian access route
• Construction of concrete ramp to end of steps to beach
• Paint and change chainlink fence

7. Seafield Road access point

• Resurfacing of pedestrian access route

8. Station Road

• Resurfacing of road
• New drainage gully connection
