Cycle Parking Stands

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council invites schools and sport clubs to apply for cycle parking stands. As part of the application process, schools and sport clubs are required to demonstrate what they are doing to promote cycling and active travel for their students and members.

Cllr Jim O’Leary, Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council stated:

‘‘I welcome the Council’s continued support in providing cycle and parking stands to schools and sports clubs. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has one of the most active populations in Ireland and I hope the provision of cycle stands makes it that little bit easier for students and club members to cycle to school or to attend training or matches. I also welcome the continuing support from the National Transport Authority for the development of Active Travel Schemes and of cycle infrastructure around the County, making it safer for our children to cycle.”

Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council actively promotes cycling as a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly travel mode and is currently developing a significant number of cycling infrastructure schemes in the County as part of the National Transport Authority Active Travel Programme. This has an allocation of €20 million for 2025.

Interested schools and sports clubs shall apply via the following link: https://dlrcoco.citizenspace.com/transportation/schools-sports-clubs-cycle-parking/

The deadline for applications is 27 February 2025.
