Planning Thresholds Information
Supplement to Planning Application
The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Development Plan 2022-2028 was adopted 21st April 2022.
The enclosed thresholds which derive from the Plan, are intended as a guideline to assist applicants who intend on lodging planning applications for, generally:
- Commercial floor over 250sq.m or, educational/medical/community developments.
- Residential development of one or more units.
By assessing the Key Thresholds table and the main Thresholds List (found in the document on the right hand side) applicants will be informed as to what they may be required to submit as part of their planning application. This could assist in the pre-application process and obviate the need for, or minimise, subsequent Further Information requests by the planning Authority.
This supplementary information is not a substitute for a Pre-planning meeting (which can be arranged by contacting the Planning Department, email:preplanning@dlrcoco.ie ) and it is advised that potential applicants familiarise themselves with the Thresholds Information Document prior to any such meeting.
This document identifies Development Management thresholds. The list is not, however, intended to be exhaustive and it may also be subject to changes in response to variations to the Development Plan over time.
Note: Some thresholds for particular developments may be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Planning Authority, or by other specific requirements, and are therefore not listed in the Key Thresholds table.
It is now possible to make an online planning application. Please click here for information on the benefits, and how to register and make an application.
