Read MoreMack Signs specialises in hand-painted signs, gold leaf work and creating unique murals.
With a strong passion for their craft they keep the rich tradition and history of signwriting alive and strong in Ireland. Their murals have become a feature of the Dublin city landscape – closer to home many locals will be familiar with their work at the Miami Café and the Welcome to Blackrock sign.
Their collaboration with Signs of Power was one of the highlights of Dún Laoghaire Anseo 2021 and we are delighted to see Mack Signs back again for 2023, this time creating a gigantic mural along the wall at Clock Lane in Dún Laoghaire.
Mack has brought their gorgeous sign writing talent to a low wall that runs the length of Clock Lane, between County Hall and Harbour Square. The phrase chosen for this piece is an Irish seanfhocal or old saying -
“An té a bhíonn siúlach bíonn scéalach – Those who travel have stories to tell”
It’s very fitting for Dún Laoghaire, a town which has seen visitors come and go, and has been the site for emigration and more recently immigration over the years.
The Mack Signs piece for Anseo 2023 was supported by Creative Ireland.
