Update 7.12.24 - The majority of routes have now been cleared.

  • Yellow weather warning remains in place for the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Area for the remainder of the day.
  • Eden Park and Shanganagh Park Recycling Centres are now back open (10.30am) please only visit centres when safe to do so. Ballyogan Recycling Centre remain closed due to strong winds.
  • Marlay Park, Cabinteely Park and Fernhill Park & Gardens will open at 11.30am

Update 6.12.24

Met Éireann have issued an Orange Wind Warning from 10pm Friday 6/12/24 to 10am Saturday 7/12/24 for Dublin & the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown area. An Orange Wind Warning can produce winds which may gust to between 110 and 130 km/h along coasts and exposed areas. Impacts can include fallen trees, damage to power lines, very difficult travelling conditions, and structural damage.

Our road crews are on standby for any incidences that may occur tonight or early morning.

  • All dlr parks will be closed and will only re-open once they have been checked and are safe to open in the morning. Wonderlights, Marlay Park and Christmas in the Park, People’s Park are both cancelled tonight (6/12/24).
  • Shanganagh Recycling Centre, Ballyogan Recycling Centre and Eden Park Recycling Centre will re-open on Saturday morning, once safe to do so.
  • All our pitches are closed on Saturday 7/12/24
  • Please stay away from coastal areas. Stay back, stay high, stay dry.

 

Advice to the public:

  • Please secure windows, door, garden furniture and bins.
  • All road users should be aware of the potential for hazardous travelling conditions.
  • Motorists should slow down and be aware of the dangers of fallen trees and debris.
  • High sided vehicles, cyclists and motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable during this time.
  • It is critical that people never ever touch or approach fallen wires, stay safe and stay clear of fallen or damage electricity wires, and contact ESB Networks at 1800 372 999.  Use the PowerCheck App to check for reconnection times.
  • If you live in a rural part of the county, please have your MPRN ready in the event you need to report a power outage to the ESB.
  • Keep your mobile phones charged.
