DLR awarded Green Flags for six Parks and also for Deansgrange Cemetery

DLR is delighted to be awarded Green Flags for six of our Parks and also for Deansgrange Cemetery. The following awards were made:

• Blackrock Park
• Cabinteely Park
• Deerpark
• Marlay Park
• The People’s Park
• Shanganagh Park
• Deansgrange Cemetery

2021 has been an especially challenging year for Parks, usage and footfall has increased massively during the Covid Pandemic, almost all activities happened outdoors and the Public Parks became a favoured and much loved destination. In receiving the Green Flags, tribute should be paid to the local staff in the Parks concerned and in Deansgrange Cemetery, this has only been possible through their hard work and dedication.

The Green Flag awards are an indication of quality and sustainability in design and maintenance of the facilities available to visitors.

We are particularly delighted to receive the award for Deansgrange Cemetery, it demonstrates a sustainable management plan for the future of the Cemetery that respects its unique heritage, maximises accessibility and the enhancement of its biodiversity into the future
