The 'Empowering Business for Climate Action' event, hosted by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council concluded with resounding success, boasting a sold-out venue and high attendance rates. The event brought together businesses of all sizes and sectors to engage in discussions on achieving a net-zero future and to acknowledge their critical role in reducing the carbon footprint of their operations.

‘The success of the Empowering Business for Climate Action event underscores the business community's enthusiasm and commitment to building a more climate resilient future within the County with many participants leaving even more motivated and inspired to implement new practices within their business settings.’ remarked Cllr. Kazi Ahmed, Leas Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

Supported by the Local Enterprise Office, Sandyford BID, and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Chamber of Commerce, the event took place at the Dynamic Space in Sandyford Business District. Attendees were treated to an inspiring session featuring guest speaker Colm O'Regan, a renowned comedian and author who captivated the audience with his insights on climate action.

Mr. Frank Curran, Chief Executive noted:

'Achieving our aims for climate action can only become a reality when we work together and the large number of business and enterprise participants at this event demonstrates a consensus on this matter. I would like to thank those that could attend today’s event and reiterate the commitment from dlr to work and support businesses on their climate action endeavours in the future.’

The discussion panels provided valuable insights into the challenges faced by businesses in adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate change and presenters shared effective strategies to overcome them which emphasised the importance of collaboration and collective action.’
