Join us in shaping the Future of Dún Laoghaire Harbour
Consultation now open!
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is embarking on an exciting journey to shape the future of our iconic Harbour, and we need your input! The Dún Laoghaire Harbour Masterplan will guide how we use, develop, and enjoy the Harbour and its surroundings for decades to come. We are inviting everyone to participate in shaping the Harbour's future by providing feedback through our public consultation process.
Frank Curran, Chief Executive of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, stated,
"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to influence the future of the Harbour. Your voice is vital to ensure the Masterplan reflects the needs of our community—current and future users, residents, businesses, and visitors alike. We encourage everyone to participate in the survey, attend our events, or send in your thoughts—every piece of feedback counts!"
You can participate via an online survey, stakeholder meetings, a webinar on 2 October, an exhibit at the dlr LexIcon Library, and a special event for juniors on 12 October. You can also join us for a pop-up consultation and free boat tour on 21 September where you can share your ideas about the Harbour’s future.
Councillor Jim O'Leary, Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, emphasised the importance of the Masterplan, stating,
"The Masterplan will serve as a long-term planning document that sets out a future vision to guide decision-making around the Harbour's growth and development. It will contain ideas for enhancing the environment, heritage, economy, recreation, tourism, and public spaces within and around Dún Laoghaire Harbour and its waters. The Masterplan will also aim to build climate resilience, increase biodiversity, and greening."
