We are committed to supporting public art programmes across all art forms that impact, animate and connect with the public or local community for whom they are made. Public art is, generally speaking, art that is located outside of a traditional space (such as a gallery or theatre) and that has a strong connection to the people or place in a county.
Over the last number of decades, we have commissioned a broad range of work through the national Per Cent for Art Scheme and through internal capital developments.
The current public art programme is funded through capital construction projects under the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government.
